Celebrate the Blues with the Friends of the UNCG Libraries

The Friends of the UNCG Libraries will celebrate blues music and support the university libraries with a dinner on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. The program will feature Bill Ferris, historian of the blues, who is heard on this podcast with Jeri Rowe of the News & Record, and local blues artist Logie Meachum. Tickets may be ordered from the UNCG Box Office at 334-4849. Dinner tickets must be reserved by March 21, but program tickets costing $18 may be obtained while they last through the time of the program, which is 8:30 that evening.

“Logie” Meachum, a blues musician and storyteller and PhD student at UNCG, spoke with radio host Frank Stasio this week as part of Stasio’s WUNC program, “The State of Things.” Along with Dr. Bill Ferris, Meachum will headline the Friends of this UNCG Libraries' celebration of blues music. Listen to the story!
