New Books? New Books!


You know even with over a million books in our libraries our collection keeps growing! Every week in Jackson Library you can see the new books in the reading room. These are switched out every Wednesday night with even newer books! If you want an idea of what we have visit our Pinterest board of new non-fiction books!

Where are the books?

Dear Students, library users, faculty and staff,

We often get the question, "How do a find a book with the call number HD9016.C62 B760 1995." What a good question! Our books are arranged by the Library of Congress call number system.  You can see how to read call numbers below:

Books are arranged by call number on certain floors. You can find out what call numbers are on what floors in several different location . You can find the locations from this link. You will also find a list posted outside of every elevator as well as inside every elevator in Jackson library. If you have more questions please feel free to Ask Us!

Friday Night Performance

University Libraries Friends,

     A library is so much more than a book depository. You know that! We offer friendly faculty and staff to help you with your research needs, materials like books, dvds, newspapers and journals, microfilm and even practice bones.

     This Friday we offer you sweet sounds and free food and drink at the Harold Schiffman Music Library. Come down Friday, September 21st at 6pm for The Old Time Music Ensemble.

Open House! Open House!

What: An open house and celebration of the Digital Media Commons. Cookies and punch!

ONLINE WORKSHOP: Streaming Films from the Library for your Class

WHEN: Wednesday September 12, at noon

WHERE: Online using Blackboard Collaborate

WHAT: Do you teach? Join us for this 45 minute online workshop to discover the wonderful streaming film subscription resources from your library. These thousands of resources include documentaries, popular films, ethnographic collections, and testimonies in a range of disciplines. Many can be embedded in Blackboard, some allow clips of films, and some offer integrating lessons plans within the films. Avoid copyright violations and find useful resources to you in your course! John McCutcheon-Monday September 10th!

University Libraries at UNCG is proud to present John McCutcheon on Monday, September 10th at 7pm in the Elliot University Center Auditorium. The program will be free and open to the public.
